- Fulfillment seekers. These workers want to make the world a better place and look for work that allows them to do so.
- Risk takers. These workers are anxious to get rich quickly so they perpetually look for opportunities to make a financial killing.
- High achievers. These workers are leaders who take initiative and plan their upwardly mobile careers carefully.
- Clock punchers. The overwhelming majority of these people ended up in their jobs and careers by chance rather than by design.
- Ladder climbers. These workers are loyal company people who want to homestead one employer for a long time.
- Paycheck cashiers. These workers seek good incomes and benefits rather than the opportunity to stretch their capabilities.[i]
