If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.

Internet of Things, known as Internet of Everything, will have toasters and refrigerators communicating and sharing data. Multiply this by a billion results in lots of data being shared every second.
Let’s look at the numbers. Seven billion VUCANs inhabit this planet. Within 10 years, each VUCAN will have a cell phone and personal sensors sharing information with a hospital, business, home, or supplier. Each products will have an address and share information with other machines. For example, VUCANs will control homes electronically when the family is thousands of miles away. Anyway, you get the idea of big data.
The data revolution allows businesses to establish new work models that can mediate and disrupt entire sectors. Big data will also be a force of disruption and Vuca control as countries and cities surveil and control. Think Big Brother management systems generating and sharing personal data 24×7 globally.
But, what happens to the Future of Work with information privacy or data overload? New businesses, opportunities, and jobs will be created such as data mining and data engineering. VUCANs can sift through large amounts of information, and discover trends that can be monetized. Now the downside: How are you planning to manage, interpret, and secure your personal information so it’s safe?
Work Lesson Earned: You can see why big data is called today’s oil or electricity. Data science is called the sexiest work of the 21st century. Data science is all about RBPS and RBDM based on large amounts data. If I were going to school today, I’d become a data scientist instead of an oil and gas engineer, which was the go-to career years ago.
