TIME MANAGEMENT

The first person gets the oyster; the second person gets the shell.

Andrew Carnegie, business person

Forbes Magazine calls time or specifically the lack of it “the biggest issue of our age.”  More work is conducted in Internet time.  Fast, seamless, and almost instantaneous.  Response times are squeezed to seize business opportunities or surpass competitors.

Hyper global competition is the new normal.  Competition done well results in high valued employment.  Competition done poorly results in a race to the bottom.

Time management is a business as well as a personal issue.  Time management is fundamentally about life, family, and work management.  Without sufficient time, one of these suffers.  Ultra busy mothers, sole proprietors, and executives have many conflicting signals and constraints.  In addition, as working parents, we worry about childcare, relationships, work concerns, individual desires, and many other time requirements.

In real estate, it’s all about location … location … location.  In life and in work, it‘s all about timing …timing…timing.  It’s about your choices – how you decide to use your limited time, resources, and money.  You can’t be all things to all people.  Time or specifically the lack of it is increasing overall anxiety.

Life Lesson Earned:  It’s all about focusing on what matters, on the important principles that direct your life and the important practices that simplify your life.  It all comes down to making the right choices and controlling time to get the right things done right so critical stakeholders are satisfied.
