As we’ve discussed, Brand U work if often described in terms of theatrical, orchestral, or movie productions. For example, there are multiple stakeholders in a theatrical or movie projects. The director is the project manager responsible for getting the job done on time and on budget. The producer is the project sponsor concerned with securing resources and buy-ins. Many tradeoffs must be understood and optimized during the theatrical production.[i]
To remain competitive, the entertainment industry has evolved into highly flexible employment systems relying on highly focused, virtual, project teams. For example, at the height of movie ‘Titanic’, Digital Domain a film company employed 900 people and when the movie finished it reduced itself to its core staff of 250.[ii]
