The Internet is blurring many of the traditional lines of business. The issue of what’s core is now a principal concern of all companies and ultimately Brand U’s. Traditional business executives as the rise of the Web, because Internet companies dispense with many of the things traditional businesses consider essential such as brick and mortar sales stores.
The epiphany is that the model or process is becoming the killer product of these new companies. Or put simply, the process is the product. Think of all the stuff that we did ten years ago, the cars we drove, the work we did, and the things we bought. Are they much different than what we do today? Not really. What’s different is how we do these same things today. In other words the product, the result, is the same but the process to get to the desired end is different. If we follow this logic, the Web and Internet are the critical new processes of the New Economy.
