Arie de Geus, a management strategist, once said “the ability to learn faster than your competitors may be the only sustainable competitive advantage.” Companies and Brand U individuals know this. Information and knowledge add value. Knowledge allows the smartest organization to deliver products and services faster and better than its competitors.
Applied knowledge and learning allows each Brand U to identify problems, provide tools to solve problems, and develop systems to measure improvements. Bottom line: applied learning and knowledge are now seen as investments to make a Brand U or Brand U organization more competitive.
Each job in an organization is assessed and aligned to achieve strategic goals. “To accomplish this, organizations are learning what individual competencies or skills and behaviors each person should have to drive their overarching business strategies,” says William Morin, the co-founder of Drake Beam Morin.[i]
