More Brand U’s are rethinking their work assumptions because of the unpredictable and volatile workplace. It’s not uncommon to see a 35-year-old Brand U having had five or more jobs, many of which were voluntary moves. Five years ago migrating from job to job was a sign of unsuitability, instability, or poor work habits.
Now, this is the norm as Brand U’s look at job movement as a means to develop marketable skills and employers look at this as a way to revitalize their current knowledge base. The down side is that the traditional long-term employee is more often perceived as a homesteader, a protector of the status quo, and risk averse.
