Global Teaming

Whatever the shape or structure of the Brand U organization, teaming is the common transactional activity. Self-managed teams are probably the most notable example of empowerment. Empowered teams and team members make decisions affecting their work and customers. Divisions, plants, and even departments are transformed into standalone work units responsible for their profit/loss. Such units must add value to their internal and external customers. Otherwise, internal customers may shop for services outside the organization.

The Internet again is another great tool for global collaboration and community building. Global chat rooms abound on almost every subject. This global community of consumers, information holders, and opinion leaders are willing to share information, knowledge, and ideas to fellow Brand U’s around the world. This global community ensures the rapid flow of information and inhibits the hording of critical knowledge.
